Ubuntu 22.04 ships with a stricter OpenSSL policy that can block older ciphers. This one-line edit restores connectivity.
Your imported VPN lives in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ as a .nmconnection file. Open it with: sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/YourVPN.nmconnection
Find the line that begins with ca= and, directly beneath it, add:
tls-cipher=DEFAULT:@SECLEVEL=0
Save the file, then run: sudo nmcli connection reload
Turn the VPN back on from the network menu — it should now connect normally.
Lowering the security level is only needed on distributions that default to the strict policy; leave your other connections untouched.
