If the client reports the background service is disabled, it just needs restarting.
Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc for Task Manager and switch to the Services tab (or run services.msc).
Find SlickVPNsrvc, right-click and choose Restart. If it won’t start, restart the Windows Event Log service first, then try again.
Close and reopen SlickVPN — it should now connect normally.
